A recent poll of 2,300 American workers found that only 25% are taking all of their paid vacation days each year. The idea that Americans do not know how to relax is not new, but it is starting to become unsettling how true it is.
Is a road trip or vacation home rentals the way to go to change this endemic?
In the same poll, 61% of participants admitted to doing some work while vacationing. For those who have trouble “turning off,” perhaps a hotel with concierge services or vacation rentals are a better choice than a road trip. The small space and constant focus required to drive safely can be exhausting. The focus is on comfort and stress-relief, after all. So if you do choose to get some work finished, you are not worrying how to get an internet connection to do so.
Vacationing is actually great for your health. One study found a relation between yearly vacations and a 50% decrease in the risk of a heart attack. It could be because a person is taking time off from work, they are also taking time off from other responsibilities and the stress that goes along with it. Stress is definitely bad for your heart. When vacationing, it is a wise decision to let other people worry about the things you do not need to.
A property management company does what the name implies: their take care of rental properties, and the renter and lessee. They are a bit like the concierge services at a nice hotel, in that they are a liaison between one party and another, and offer information about the area and what there is to do. This allows the vacationing party to relax.
Property management services are also beneficial for people who own a vacation property. They can advertise the property; handle payments; cleaning, and other small services to keep things running smoothly. The appeal of a vacation home is that it is homely and comfortable, but you did not need to do anything to make it that way. The property management, with their concierge services, did the work for you.
